An operating system in a cartridge
SpartaDOS X resides in cartridge or expansion memory, such as SIDE, Ultimate 1MB or IDE Plus. It can also run in an emulator. Device packages contain different images. An ATR for firmware updates is not an SDX boot disk.
Commands and directories
D1: selects the first drive, DIR lists its contents, and CHKDSK shows media information. CHDIR followed by a directory name changes the current directory. COPY copies files. Directory support depends on the file system and device driver.
Release documentation
Release 4.51 uses the 4.50 user manual and whatsnew-451.txt for changes. SpartaDOS X is distinct from the older SpartaDOS loaded from disk.
